A family farming in Montana faces off against others who are encroaching on their land. Forrie J. I finished the first episode of the first season last night, which is almost 90 minutes long
This series has been on the air since 2018, but this is the first time I’ve watched anything. In terms of the introduction of the Dutton family, we see that they have a powerful influence in their valley, but they are defending themselves against “attacks.” One from developers who want to build apartment buildings. The other from a neighboring native reservation who is seeking to reclaim some of their land and some of the animals. To help with all this and the sheer size of his ranch, Dutton (played authentically by Kevin Costner, 60) has a few grown cowboy kids and a helicopter with a dedicated pilot.

The reason I watched the first episode of the first season (on Peacock) was to get a feel for the Dutton family, as I’m currently binge-watching all ten episodes of Taylor Sheridan’s latest show, “1883,” which is sort of a prequel. . Again, this is all fiction, but given the ages of the men and the fact that Costner was born in 1955, his character would likely be the great-great-grandson of patriarch Dutton (played by Tim McGraw) in 1883. For example.
With children born around 1875, 1900, 1925, and 1950
Yellowstone is a very good series, the actors are all top-notch, the cinematography and sound are great. It’s just not a show I can get into and keep watching. It’s hard to find characters with redeeming qualities, and I really don’t like shows that focus on constant arguments and fights, and often death. Now that I’m in my 70s, I’d rather spend my time watching “feel-good” stories.
NB – “1883” is a very good and interesting series because it authentically depicts the immense difficulty of uprooting and traveling through unknown territories, trying to find a new life in a new place
