Plot

Bound by a spell, Agatha Harkness regains her freedom thanks to the help of a teenager. Intrigued by her plea, she embarks on the Witches' Road Test to regain her powers and discover the teen’s motives. Stars Kathryn Hahn, Joe Locke, Sasheer Zamata, Debra Jo Rupp, and Ali Ann, along with showrunner Jac Schaeffer and executive producer Mary Livanos, talk about how they prepared for the Marvel show.

This show was an unexpected and pleasant surprise

I liked WandaVision quite a bit, but that was three years ago and a lot has happened in the MCU since then, with many projects scrapped or reworked. I had forgotten this was even a thing until the commercials started a few months ago. I watched the first episode out of curiosity and found it interesting and very funny (the “based on a Danish TV series…” was hilarious), thanks in large part to Katherine Hahn being brilliant as usual.

It was fun and interesting, and there wasn’t a single weak link in the cast

It’s a fun “MCU sideshow” show, like Werewolf at Night, and shows that maybe Marvel and Disney should pay a little more attention to the dark side of their universe, since that’s been the more entertaining side for a while now. The concept of Witches Road is fun and interesting, and the show is basically a “getting the band back together” road trip show – so far (after paying a quick homage to its roots in the TV series tropes show in the first episode). “Teenage” and even Sylvia’s true nature keeps me intrigued and wanting answers as Agatha gets her career back – even though the “M word” was just teasing.
