Will he be able to hold the fort on three gates?
Plot
The journey of a man who discovers himself, finds love and fights for his country. When I got to know that AP Arjun was directing a story written by Arjun Sarja and starring Dhruva Sarja, I should have sensed from a mile away how average the film would be. The background score by Ravi Basrur is not my favourite but it was even worse than all his previous works.
There were a few twists in the first half
Arjun Sarja’s previous directorial works (especially those featuring his daughter) were laughable so it would be natural for him to make a mistake with Martin Dhruva Sarja. But this time the director is AP Arjun who has already given Dhruva Sarja some good romantic comedy hits. In some scenes his direction was okay but in others it failed miserably.
There were some good shots, but very few of them
While all of them were predictable, some were a surprise given the style of the story. And just when I was starting to feel that things were going to be good, it started to get worse again. And this time it was even worse, with choppy editing, loud and jarring background music, weird dialogues (there is a dialogue that rhymes Martin with protein), tanks, motorcycles, bombs, deserts on green screens, CGI fights and many more!
The color grading is average
The rest of the production values are barely decent. The only good thing about the movie is that they didn’t reveal anything in the trailer. They deliberately kept the audience’s expectations low so that this movie could at least be called “average” if it doesn’t meet those expectations!
There is everything in the movie except a logical story and good direction
There are no comedy scenes in the movie (at least better, considering the vulgarity of KFI comedies), maybe because the movie itself is a joke?! Better to skip it unless you want to hide in the theater for one reason or another.
